Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
What this is
Ramble Room is a social conversation service operated by Christopher Sullivan, sole proprietor. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What Ramble Room is not
Ramble Room is not healthcare, therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, or emergency services. It is not a substitute for 911. If you are experiencing a medical or life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.
Automated systems and AI
Jordan is automated call infrastructure, not a human. Jordan connects the call, explains the controls, and can give a gentle cue when someone wants to speak. Jordan does not choose the topic, steer the discussion, judge participation, record the conversation, or turn it into content. Short phone steps such as signup, voicemail, or a support request may be deliberately recorded after a disclosure and are deleted after processing or cleanup.
Your conduct
Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate speech, or solicitation. No recording sessions. No sharing other members' personal information. A room owner may remove someone from that room; account-level action requires the Ramble Room safety process.
Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide. One account per person. At signup you must confirm, “I am at least 18 and under 60.” We store that attestation and its time, not your birth date. Turning 60 after creating an eligible account does not automatically remove you. You may cancel at any time.
Billing
Free is the no-cost membership. One planned Coffee Chat each member week is available without charge whenever there is interest. Free and paid members share the same introduction pool, and a Coffee Chat does not require any participant to become a paid Contributor in order to continue. Through January 1, 2027, opted-in app members may receive one conditional, five-minute offer each week for a last-minute opening during a time they already marked available. The pilot opening is not guaranteed, is counted when accepted, and is never eligible for phone access. The Contributor Founding Pilot is a one-time $15 Ko-fi Shop purchase that provides 60 days of Contributor benefits: up to four planned Coffee Chats each member week, one Coffee Chat by Phone Door per member week when available, mutual continuity priority, and Private Room creation. Continuity priority does not guarantee a particular person or time. The pilot does not renew automatically. When those paid benefits end, free membership and the free weekly Coffee Chat continue without payment. Optional donations add no access, status, or influence.
Phone access
Phone Door is a Contributor-only individual benefit for one Coffee Chat per member week. It is available only while Contributor benefits are active. Other Contributor Coffee Chats and all Free Coffee Chats use the app.
The service
We do our best to keep Ramble Room running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Phone networks, internet connections, and technology sometimes fail. We are not liable for missed sessions due to technical issues.
Geographic restrictions
Ramble Room is not available to residents of Illinois. By registering, you represent that you are not a resident of any restricted state. Misrepresentation of your state of residence constitutes a material breach of these terms.
Liability
Ramble Room is provided as-is. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months. We are not responsible for anything said by other members during sessions.
Dispute resolution and arbitration
Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Ramble Room shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, not in court. You and Christopher Sullivan, operator of Ramble Room, each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. This arbitration agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
Arbitration shall take place in Wichita Falls, Texas, or by phone or video at your election. If your claim is for $10,000 or less, we will pay all arbitration fees. You may opt out of this arbitration clause by emailing hello@rambleroom.app within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
